SPARC는 Osteonectin/BM-40라고도 불리는 당단백질로서 세포와 기질 간의 상호작용을 조절하는 데 결정적인 역할을 하며, 다양한 생리과정 (예: 조직 리모델링, 세포의 부착 및 이동, 혈관신생, 종양의 전이)에 관여합니다 (참조: J Cell Biol 109:341~ 356).
여러 연구에 따르면 SPARC는 종양의 진행을 양성적 또는 음성적으로 조절하며 새로운 종양 혈관의 생성 및 침습과 관련이 있다고 생각되고 있습니다.
이와는 반대로 SPARC가 새로운 혈관 생성과 Lewis 폐암, 신경모세포종(neuroblastoma), 난소암의 증식을 저해한다는 연구 결과도 나와 있습니다.
따라서 SPARC는 다양한 기능을 갖고 있으며, 대상 세포에 따라 특이적인 작용을 보이는 것으로 생각됩니다.

Application
Western Blot- Detection of endogenous SPARC in mouse heart lysate using X1867P (0.75 ug/ml) and anti-rabbit HRP (1:75k) and using Pierce’s Super Signal West Femto. IHC- Detection of endogenous SPARC in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). 2 ug/ml X1867P, developed with Vector ImmPress anti-rabbit HRP and DAB substrate.
